Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to personal information when you visit gentlemansclub.co.nz, use a site feature, or follow a link to one of our venue, shopping or recruitment partners.

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Collect with purpose

We only seek information needed to operate, measure and improve the site.

Be clear about hand-offs

Partner websites handle their own bookings, sales and applications.

Respect your rights

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Gentleman's Experiences - New Zealand website at gentlemansclub.co.nz (the “site”). The site helps adults discover premium nightlife venues, shopping destinations and recruitment opportunities in New Zealand.

In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Digital Simple Limited, the technical administrator and collecting agency for personal information collected directly through this site. Digital Simple Limited is a registered New Zealand company, company number 6927499 and NZBN 9429046895394, with its registered office and address for service at 360 Tuam Street, Christchurch Central, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand.

Some links take you to a separate partner website. That partner becomes responsible for personal information you provide there, under its own privacy policy. This policy does not replace a partner’s terms.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Contact details you provide: such as your name, email address, phone number, and the partner or service your enquiry concerns.
  • Communications: the message and other information included in an email, phone call, privacy request, or correspondence.
  • Technical and usage information: such as IP address, browser and device type, page views, referring page, timestamps, approximate location, campaign parameters, click identifiers and cookie or measurement identifiers.
Current site status

The contact page includes an email enquiry builder. It prepares a draft in your device’s email app and does not submit or store the entered details on gentlemansclub.co.nz. Your email provider and the receiving team handle the message after you choose to send it. Purchases, bookings and recruitment applications are completed on linked partner websites, not on gentlemansclub.co.nz.

You do not have to send an email or provide contact details to use the directory. If you do not provide information needed for an enquiry, the receiving team may be unable to respond. Technical measurement information is collected automatically when enabled in your browser; you can limit cookies using your browser settings.

3. How we collect it

Information may be collected:

  • directly from you when you contact us or make a privacy request;
  • automatically from your browser or device when you use the site;
  • through analytics, advertising, hosting and security providers; or
  • from a partner where it is necessary, lawful and consistent with what you were told when the information was collected.

4. How we use it

We may use personal information to:

  • operate, maintain, secure and troubleshoot the site;
  • respond to enquiries, requests or complaints;
  • direct visitors to the most relevant partner destination;
  • understand site use and improve content, navigation and performance;
  • measure campaigns and prevent repeated or irrelevant advertising;
  • detect misuse, fraud or security incidents; and
  • meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We will not use personal information for a materially different purpose without a lawful basis or, where appropriate, telling you first.

5. Cookies and measurement

The site uses Google Tag Manager to manage measurement and advertising tags. Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-WRRXTEBS5M, currently loads through Tag Manager. These tools may collect usage information, set cookies, or connect a visit with an advertising campaign.

These tools may help us understand which pages are useful, diagnose site performance and measure advertising outcomes. The site does not currently provide an on-site consent control. You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Read the separate Cookie Policy for more information.

6. When we share information

We may share information with:

  • hosting, analytics, advertising, security and technical providers that support the site;
  • a venue, retailer or recruitment partner when you ask us to connect you or the hand-off is clear from your action;
  • professional advisers, insurers or authorities where reasonably necessary; or
  • a successor or purchaser as part of a genuine business restructure, subject to appropriate privacy safeguards.

We do not sell or rent personal information. Providers are only given the information reasonably required for their role.

7. Partner websites

The site links to external venue, ecommerce and recruitment websites. A click may send the partner the usual technical data associated with a web request, including the referring page.

Once you leave this site, the partner controls its website, forms, payments, bookings and application processes. Review that partner’s privacy policy before providing personal information, particularly payment, identity, employment or application details.

8. Overseas processing

Some service providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where the Privacy Act 2020 requires it, we will take reasonable steps to ensure comparable privacy safeguards apply or use another permitted basis for the disclosure.

Overseas privacy laws may differ from New Zealand law. You can contact us if you want more information about a particular service provider or transfer.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose it was collected, including any legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution period. Retention periods vary by information type and service provider.

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify or securely dispose of it.

10. Security and breaches

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards suited to the information we hold. These may include encrypted connections, access controls, reputable service providers and limiting collection.

No internet service is completely secure. If a privacy breach has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected people as required by New Zealand law.

11. Your privacy rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
  • provide access to that information; or
  • correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If your concern relates to a partner website, contact that partner first because it controls the information collected there.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner .

12. Age restrictions

This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children through this site. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site, its partners, technology or legal requirements change. The “last updated” date shows when the latest version took effect. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site.

14. Contact us

For a privacy request or question about information collected directly through this site, contact Digital Simple Limited at dom@digitalsimple.co.nz with the subject line “Privacy request”. Please explain your relationship with the site and the information or action you are requesting.

For information submitted on a partner website, use that partner’s published privacy contact details.
